This intimate event is a fundraiser to further the work of 350 Silicon Valley and is limited to the first 25 people that RSVP.  Suggested donation amount is $25-50 per person.  Wine and light hors d'oeuvres will be provided.  The event location in a private home in downtown San Jose will be provided once you RSVP.

We’ll hear first-hand from these climate heroes about the current efforts to end Big Oil’s influence in the California Legislature and what they see as the emerging battlefronts for 2018 and beyond.

RL Miller is the elected chair of California Democratic Party’s environmental caucus and an active climate blogger and organizer. RL earned high honors in political science at UCSD for writing a thesis on coal exports, and a law degree from UC Davis, and has been active exposing the politics of climate denial and opposing fracking for oil in California, as well as advocacy and organizing on behalf of clean-economy legislation.

Joining RL will be David Braun.  David is a cofounder of Americans Against Fracking and New Yorkers Against Fracking, and recently relocated back to his home state of California to fight fracking and toxic oil and gas practices. Working closely with Californians Against Fracking, a coalition of over 200 organizations, David cofounded Rootskeeper, a nonprofit project which facilitates grassroots action and builds power.  Rootskeeper is currently spearheading the statewide “Oil Money Out” campaign which calls on our elected officials to stop taking dirty oil money and to prioritize our health over industry profits.  While in New York, David founded and worked with several grassroots antifracking organizations and helped design and implement the successful campaign calling for a ban on fracking. Previously, he was the grassroots coordinator for the films, GASLAND and GASLAND II. Before working on the fracking issue, he organized with MoveOn and has also engaged with numerous other social, environmental and economic justice campaigns.

Space is limited for this event.  RSVP today!
